London VPS hosting in the United Kingdom
The London location is really in Slough, west of the city. LON-01 is the UK choice on this site, for users in the UK and Ireland first.
Plans in London
Prices in USD, excluding taxes. A 12-month term lowers the monthly price by 10%.
Slough, west of London
The street address is 724-729 Dundee Rd, on the Slough Trading Estate. That puts LON-01 west of London, so this is not a central London server. Leaseweb does have a site in the city, LON-12 at Wapping Lane, but its VPS configurator offers LON-01. Leaseweb publishes a speed test host for each, so use lon1, the one on this page, and not lon12. Leaseweb lists LON-01 as Tier III, and its page for the building counts 3 carriers and 4 Internet Exchanges.
Exchanges and cables around London
London's exchange history is in the Docklands. Telehouse says its Telehouse North building opened there in 1990 as the first purpose-built colocation data centre in Europe, and has been home to LINX since 1994. LINX was founded that year by five ISPs and describes itself as a member-owned, not-for-profit exchange.
On 5 November 2026 PeeringDB listed 834 networks on LINX LON1, which LINX calls its original and largest exchange, and 317 on LON2. LONAP, which calls itself a not-for-profit exchange based in London, had 305. Long-haul cables reach the UK far from the city: TeleGeography lists 8 in-service systems at Bude in Cornwall, among them Grace Hopper (United States, Spain), Amitie (United States, France) and 2Africa.
London against Amsterdam
If your audience is split between the UK and the EU, you will probably compare these two. Prices differ because Leaseweb's own costs differ, and the gap changes from plan to plan. Here are the monthly prices, with traffic:
| Plan | London | Amsterdam |
|---|---|---|
| VPS 1 | $10.99 · 30 TB | $8.99 · 30 TB |
| VPS 2 | $16.99 · 30 TB | $15.99 · 30 TB |
| VPS 3 | $30.99 · 30 TB | $23.99 · 30 TB |
| VPS 4 | $54.99 · 30 TB | $43.99 · 30 TB |
| VPS 5 | $80.99 · 30 TB | $57.99 · 30 TB |
| VPS 6 | $117.99 · 30 TB | $117.99 · 30 TB |
UK and Ireland first
Put a server here for users in the UK and Ireland, then Western Europe. It is also a reasonable choice for an audience split between Europe and the US East Coast, since transatlantic cables land in the UK.
City facts describe the place, not this service, and we claim no connection to any exchange or cable named here. Figures with no date were read in November 2026. Sources: LINX, LONAP, Telehouse, PeeringDB, TeleGeography, Leaseweb.

Before you choose London
Is this a London server or a Slough server?
Slough. LON-01 is in the London area, on the Slough Trading Estate. If you need a server in central London, this is not it. If you need one in the UK, it is.
London or Amsterdam for a UK and EU audience?
If most users are in the UK and Ireland, start here. If the UK is one market among several in Western Europe, Amsterdam is a sensible single location too. Compare your plan in the table above, then test both from your users' networks.
Does London work for users on the US East Coast?
For an audience split between Europe and the US East Coast, it is a reasonable choice. If most of those users are in the US, look at Washington instead. Run the network test from both sides of the Atlantic before you choose.
